Recently (As I did last year) I attended VMware’s VMworld 2010 Expo in San Francisco as a Digital Journalist, producing content for the show and for PHD Virtual. This afforded me the opportunity to meet loads of people I had only chatted to on Twitter/Skype etc, and also forge new friendships in the virtualization community!
I have to give huge props to John Troyer, Tony Dunn, Luke Kilpatrick, and the rest of VMware’s social media team for the job they did at VMworld! I’ve been to upwards of 10 “expo level events” this year, and none came close to VMworld’s usage of social media, community networking, and general dedication to online channels.
The blogger lounge was a main hang-out area where bloggers and other attendees could sit and chat, write blog posts, and chill. It also had a great broadcast area where content was streamed live to the web!
I’m kinda wishing I could go to VMworld Copanhagen now! If anyone want’s to send me please feel free to contact me! ![]()
